Please download the abstract submission form and guidance. Clinical, basic science, case reports, audit and AHP presentations are welcome. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Scottish Medical Journal and abstract prizes will be awarded.

Sonography Synovitis Course, Scottish Rheumatology Ultrasound Group Course

This blended learning residential course is intended for Rheumatologists and AHP who are beginners / improvers / or advanced in ultrasonography in rheumatology. The Primary objective of the course will be the detection of synovitis and effusion in various joints commonly involved in rheumatoid arthritis. Secondary objectives are learner directed in consultation with expert teachers. 

Further work based and competency certification opportunities are possible via a UK mentor network programme of learning. The sonography synovitis course competency programme option extends into staged assessments and an OSCE exit competency examination 1 year later. The certification is CASE accredited and recognised throughout Europe as certifying the individual to be competent in focused ultrasound synovitis detection - details are available on application to e mail
