About the SSR
The Scottish Society for Rheumatology was founded in 2001, as successor to the longstanding Scottish Rheumatology Club.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect and hold online.
Where is your data stored?
Any data collected through this website for the Scottish Society for Rheumatology (hereafter SSR) is held at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh stored on a Microsoft 365 cloud system. This is accessed by Fitwise Management who provide administration support for the SCS on behalf of the RCPE. The SSR is the data controller for any data relating to SSR membership, bursaries, and events. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact ssr@societysupport.org or write to Scottish Society for Rheumatology, 11 Queen Street, Edinburgh, EH2 1JQ in the first instance.
Accessing your data
To make an informal request for any personal information we may hold you should in touch with the SSR administrator at the contact details provided below.
Additionally you can find out which personal information we hold by making a ‘subject access request’ under the GDPR. Where we hold information about you we will provide:
- A description of what we hold.
- An overview of why we are holding it.
- Details of who it could be disclosed to.
- A copy of the information in a suitable format within 30 days.
If you agree, we will try to deal with your request informally, for example by providing you with the specific information you need over the telephone.

The SSR do not have any automated system in place which involves decision making and profiling.
